The Influenza Virus

There are two drugs commonly prescribed for influenza:

  • TAMIFLU
Tamiflu is a tablet, generally used for prevention - and was used extensively to prevent people from developing bird flu - during the recent pandemic. It is also highly effective against normal 'flu viruses, and many corporations provide it free of charge to their essential staff members, to ensure they don't come down with illness.
  • RELENZA
Relezna is an inhaler, containing a drug similar to Tamiflu - but it is generally used to reduce the length of infection, once you get influenza.

Our doctor requires a consultation to issue you with these medications - and there are various people for whom they are not suitable, so we need you to fill in a brief questionnaire and we may call you back.
